A Wild, Remote, and Exceptionally Beautiful Mountain Race Through Idaho’s Pioneer Mountains

The Standhope Ultra Challenge offers three rugged distances—100 Mile, 60K, and 30K—each promising high-altitude adventure and breathtaking scenery. This is not a course for the faint of heart. With climbs reaching up to 11,000 feet, remote terrain, and steep technical trails, entry should NOT be taken lightly. Every aid station is hiked in, and weather in the mountains can change fast.

These races are ideal training grounds for high-altitude 50s and 100-milers—or a serious accomplishment on their own. All finishers receive a unique, handcrafted award.

100 Mile (July 25–27)
A true backcountry epic. This route challenges runners with over 23,000 feet of climbing across remote wilderness trails and long stretches between aid. If you're looking for a hard-earned buckle and a wild experience, this is your race.

60K (July 26)
This alpine grinder delivers 9,000 feet of vert over 37.2 miles, with massive climbs, high ridgelines, and mountain lakes. It’s a tough but rewarding push through some of the Pioneers' most stunning terrain.

30K (July 26)
Don’t let the shorter distance fool you—this is a true mountain race. The 30K covers the second half of the 60K course and includes over 4,300 feet of climbing on remote, rocky trails. Expect 4–6 hours on your feet, steep grades (an average of 325' per mile), and one hell of a sense of accomplishment when you cross the finish line. If you’re not ready for a long, tough day in the mountains, this isn’t your race. But if you are—you’re in for something unforgettable.
